It acts sort of like a mesh network, so if you watch a video or a stream, content is streaming in from multiple locations. What Theta does is to basically utilize lots and lots of PCs to distribute content instead. And sometimes, you face additional issues that come with centralization, like country-wide bans or censorship, country-specific content, slow speeds, and so forth. The problem is that these big servers costs a lot of money to rent, and most content providers don't always have such funds. Okay so, when it comes to video streaming, content providers have to rely on CDN servers (content delivery network), which are these big servers dotted around the world, to help deliver content really fast to people near that area. Theta in contrast, even with its paltry earnings, was a far better earner. I actually tried BTT a while back, and even with my unlimited cap pipe, I barely got anything. And that's because there are enough people out there to spread the bandwidth load, that they won't need yours at all.Īnd that means, you need to be constantly finding/downloading/seeding.

Once the latest torrent releases becomes a day or so old, people will stop giving you coins. Is there a way to automate this? Such as allow 100 GB of my hard drive to be used for this and then it automatically downloads and deletes movies or games that aren't as popular? Or, you can also choose to seed extremely hard to find torrents that hardly anyone wants to seed, but which a few folks do want. If you're lucky, someone will be desperate enough to want that asap. So you seed the very very latest movies/games that are minutes or hours old. My question is what files should I store and from where? I assume storing popular files such as movies or games would be an excellent way to seed and get a chunk of those nice coins.
